First Quarter 2016 Clinical Integration Payments Coming Soon

May 25th, 2016 | Clinical Connections

Primary Care Physicians participating in AHP gainsharing contracts can expect to receive their first quarter 2016 payments via postal mail in early June. Clinical integration payments are intended to compensate PCPs for actively participating in AHP’s Clinical Integration program, which includes data sharing, quality protocols, and care management. Clinical integration payments are based on attributed MVP commercial and Medicare Advantage patients, and attributed Excellus commercial patients. Patients are generally attributed to a physician based upon managed care PCP designation, or frequency of E&M services.

While we anticipate the clinical integration payment methodology to remain largely unchanged in 2016, payers have expressed some interest in tying these payments in the future to PCMH status. Consider applying for PCMH consulting assistance (see PCMH story below) and preserve this revenue stream for your practice.
