AHP – GME Partnership

AHP – GME Partnership

May 7th, 2018 | Clinical Connections

Recently, UR Medicine’s Graduate Medical Education program was one of eight innovator sites across the country to be selected by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education to design new ways to integrate quality, safety, value and systems change into graduate training for our residents and fellows. To assist in this endeavor, and build upon the strength of engagement of our residents and fellows in their outpatient clinics, AHP has begun to formulate a collaboration with our GME program. This collaboration will be focused on providing value-based education to our trainees, having them work collaboratively on optimizing key performance metrics, and then taking this optimization strategy back to their own practices for implementation. This is not only an ideal way to improve our current performance across our network, but also a way to engage and incorporate our future community and employed clinicians given so many of our residency training program graduates stay and practice in the Greater Rochester community. We look forward to this new partnership, and have great hopes for the mutual benefits it will foster.
