Accountable Health Partners Appoints John R. Williford as Chief Executive Officer
July 8th, 2025 | NewsThe Board of Managers of Accountable Health Partners (AHP) is pleased to announce the appointment of John R. Williford as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 2025. John will succeed Dr. Bob McCann, who retired at the end of 2024, and Dr. Chad Teeters, who has served as interim CEO during the transition.
This appointment follows a rigorous national search conducted by a dedicated search committee, with the final selection made by the AHP Board of Managers. The process focused on identifying a visionary leader with a deep understanding of health-system operations, value-based care payment models, and the use of technology to improve patient care.

Williford is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience leading complex, multi-site operations across health systems and managed care organizations. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Population Health for Montefiore Health System and Chief Operating Officer of Montefiore’s Care Management Organization. He was instrumental in transitioning the company from significant annual losses to sustained profitability, marking a major financial turnaround during his six-year tenure. He also led major improvements in population health operations, data infrastructure, and clinical programs.

Williford’s career includes leadership roles at ArchCare, Sandata Technologies, iHealth Technologies, and Deloitte Consulting. He is known for building high-performing teams, driving financial and clinical improvements, and designing scalable care models that improve outcomes for patients and communities.

Williford holds a degree in International Studies with a concentration in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has completed executive programs at Harvard Law School and is a certified internal coach.
