June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month: During Pride Month, cities and towns across the United States will honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement. The 2023 calendar for Rochester celebrates Pride in July, and the 2023 calendar of Pride events during June and July. Learn more about Pride Month on the Library of Congress webpage.
Juneteenth 2023: Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, will be observed on Monday, June 19. AHP offices will be closed to observe the holiday. In recognition of the holiday, the City of Rochester is hosting the 2023 Rochester Juneteenth Festival at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park on June 17th.
