February is Black History Month! Each year, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) establishes a theme for Black History Month. This year’s theme is Black Resistance and is meant to raise awareness of the people, activities, and institutions that, in the face of oppression, contributed to the advancement of African Americans. AHP is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts and encourages network members to participate in EDI activities in our community.
University of Rochester: The University of Rochester Community is hosting several events, including art exhibits and musical performances, during February to celebrate Black History Month 2023. View the Black History Month Calendar here.
Rochester Museum & Science Center: The Rochester Museum & Science Center celebrates Black History Month 2023 with four weekends of family-friendly experiences. Visit the RMSC during February as they honor black history and highlight scientists and local and historical activists.
