Pharmacy Pearls: Aspirin for ASCVD Prevention- When to Start and Stop

August 31st, 2020 | Pharmacy PearlsCardiology
This edition of Pharmacy Pearls focuses on using low-dose aspirin for ASCVD prevention. We highlight when aspirin is indicated to reduce ASCVD risk, as well as when it might be appropriate to de-prescribe (stop) based on patient-specific criteria. An algorithm is included that providers can follow to determine whether their patients are eligible for low-dose aspirin and how to evaluate the safety of initiating/continuing aspiring based on the patient’s bleed risk.
As always, we welcome any questions or feedback you may have. Just email the Pharmacy Team.
