The American Psychological Association has downloadable materials to educate the public on issues of mental health, stress and physical health.

Brochures and Fact Sheets on mental health related topics are also available for download through the NIMH website.

Helpful Tips for Family and Friends:

Helping a loved one with depression can be a challenge. Because the very nature of depression may cause people to shut down and withdraw, it may be especially important that you reach out to them as they may be reluctant or unable to ask for help.

The Mayo Clinic website includes a page on Depression and supporting family and friends.

NAMI Rochester and NAMI Finger Lakes are excellent resources involved in support, education and advocacy for families with mental illness
