This edition of Pharmacy Pearls provides a depression management algorithm for adult and pediatric (age 12+) patients that was developed in collaboration with AHP’s Behavioral Health Integration Team.

In these documents below you will find AHP-endorsed depression management principles including: management based on depression severity, guidance for initiation of new antidepressant therapy (focusing on SSRIs) and strategies for patients with partial or no response to therapy. We have also included quick references for recommended starting doses, medication side effects, and antidepressant switch strategies.
