Pharmacy Pearls: Aspirin for ASCVD

Pharmacy Pearls: Aspirin for ASCVD

October 17th, 2022 | Pharmacy PearlsCardiology

In this edition of Pharmacy Pearls, you will find updated guidance released by the US Preventive Services Task Force and reviewed by local cardiologists about when to use and when to stop aspirin for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) prevention in primary care. Included is an algorithm that providers can use to determine when aspirin therapy is appropriate, and when it might be appropriate to discontinue aspirin use based on a patient’s ASCVD risk and bleeding risk. As always, we welcome any questions or feedback you may have. Just email the Pharmacy Team.
