In this edition of Pharmacy Pearls, you will find an update on weight loss medication. Specifically, this pearl highlights the recently approved medication Zepbound^TM, which contains the same active ingredient, tirzepatide, as Mounjaro^TMbut is now approved for weight loss instead of diabetes. There are still many unknowns with this medication- including exact cost and coverage, and availability. Some pharmacies in the area are reporting the ability to order, and some are not yet able to order it. We anticipate a great deal of patient interest in this medication and hope you find this information helpful.
