2022 Gainsharing Distribution Approved

2022 Gainsharing Distribution Approved

June 30th, 2023 | QualityNews

We are pleased to announce that AHP has earned gainsharing for the 2022 performance year, its ninth consecutive year of meeting the cost and quality goals that enable these shared savings. At their June meeting, the AHP Board of Managers approved the distribution of 2022 gainsharing incentives following the same methodology as prior years, with 60% of the distribution awarded to PCPs, 25% to specialists, and 15% to hospitals. The schedule for hospital and specialist gainsharing payments will be announced soon, and PCP gainsharing payments will be made in the August 2023 timeframe.

PCPs earn their portion of the 60% PCP gainshare through their performance under AHP’s PCP Reward plan, which holds providers accountable for performance in quality, cost-savings, and citizenship domains. However, due to data quality issues with the Arcadia Analytics dashboard and the resultant delays impacting the Provider Engagement Report (PER), the AHP leadership team decided to reward PCPs equitably for 2022 performance. All incentive-eligible providers will receive the same incentive for the Reward Plan’s cost performance and citizenship components. For the quality component, providers with panels of 500 or more patients will receive the same incentive, while providers with panels of 500 or fewer patients will receive a proportionally smaller incentive.
