MVP and Excellus to Streamline Provider Demographic Updates with CAQH

MVP Health Care and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield announced transitions to the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare’s (CAQH) Provider Data Portal, making it easier for providers to manage demographic information and attestations in one centralized location. Through the CAQH Provider Data Portal, providers can enter and maintain their professional and practice information in one place and share it with multiple health plans. This reduces administrative burden and ensures Members have access to accurate, up-to-date provider information.

Key Benefits of the Transition:

  • Greater accuracy in provider directories and plan records.
  • Faster processing times through electronic data exchange.

Specific information shared from each plan is available below.

MVP Transition
Beginning July 1, 2025, MVP launched a phased partnership with CAQH to streamline provider demographic updates.

What Providers Need to Know for MVP:

  • You will receive an automated email from CAQH once MVP requests your information during the rollout, with advance notice from MVP.
  • If you already have a CAQH account, no action is needed until further instructions are provided.

Excellus Transition
Later this year, Excellus BCBS will also transition all attestations and provider data changes to the CAQH platform.

If you are already registered, simply authorize Excellus to access your information.

Keep Your Information Current
Both MVP and Excellus encourage providers to verify and update demographic information regularly:

  • Use each plan’s online tools to update your practice details.
  • Review your information every 90 days in MVP’s Find a Doctor/Provider tool and Excellus’s online directories.
  • Confirm accuracy on the NPI Registry.
