AHP Forms Pharmacy Task Force
March 31st, 2017 | ArchiveWith pharmaceutical expenses being a major driver of increased health care costs, AHP has developed a pharmacy task force that will focus on that specific issue and devise strategies in response. Consisting of clinical pharmacists, physicians and administrators from across AHP, the task force will pursue both short- and long-term goals for improving AHP’s financial performance for these medical expenses. Also supporting the task force are members of AHP’s Specialist Advisory Committee who will be reviewing specialty-specific pharmacy data to identify unwarranted variability, potential overutilization and lower cost alternatives.
Providers can expect to learn more about the task force’s action plan for containing pharmacy costs that will have a positive impact on gain sharing.
