Trillium Health Promoting PrEP Education for Providers
May 30th, 2018 | ArchiveWith over 120,000 New Yorkers living with HIV and rates of infection among young people on the rise, universal access to PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is an important strategy for HIV prevention. AHP member Trillium Health is launching a campaign to educate providers and patients about PrEP.
For providers interested in becoming PrEP prescribers, Trillium specialists can get you started. Prefer to refer patients to a PrEP prescriber? Trillium can help your practice develop workflows for a seamless process. They can also provide patient education materials for your waiting room. This is an opportunity for ob-gyn providers as well as pediatricians particularly since individuals 13 and older no longer need parental consent for HIV testing, treatment, or prevention.
Trillium’s multidisciplinary team is ready to work with you and improve patient access to HIV prevention services. Whether navigating assistance programs to help patients afford PrEP or providing PrEP services via telemedicine, Trillium will work with you to develop solutions that work best for your practice. Interested providers can contact Trillium’s PrEP team directly at (585) 454-7737.
