Lead Poisoning Awareness Webinar/Resources
October 31st, 2022 | Quality•NewsOctober 29th marked the end of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, but the work doesn’t end there! COVID-19 affected our community in many ways and created new obstacles for keeping families safe from lead poisoning. Monroe County has a long history of keeping children safe from lead, but we need partners like you to help spread awareness and maintain the health of our most vulnerable.
The Western NY Lead Poisoning Resource Center’s Rochester Office, with input, funding, and approval from the NYSDOH Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, developed an interactive module for NYS Providers, “Lead Poisoning in Children and Pregnant Women: An Interactive Continuing Education Module for NYS Providers.” The module is designed to help providers prevent lead exposure in the families they serve. The module is free for URMC and affiliate providers; all others pay $15 to participate. Providers must register for the module to obtain CME, CNE, or Social Work CE. You can view the full webinar flyer here. The video and slides are available on the WNY Lead Poisoning Resource Center’s Rochester Office page if you aren’t interested in earning continuing education credits.
