UR Medicine to Host Behavioral Health Integration Symposium Featuring AHP Leaders

UR Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry Collaborative Care and Wellness Division will hold its 7th annual behavioral health integration symposium, “Behavioral Health as Population Health: Addressing Behavioral and Social Mediators of Wellbeing,” on Friday, September 29. Participants will learn about best practices for integrating behavioral health into medical care, the holistic and biopsychosocial assessment of neurological disorders, and the impact of psychological and social factors on diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.

The event will feature remarks from Dr. George Nasra, Chief, Division of Collaborative Care and Wellness at UR Medicine and Associate Medical Director for Behavioral Health at AHP, and Mark Cronin, AHP’s Chief Operating Officer. Last but not least, Dr. LJ Shipley, Vice Chair for Population and Behavioral Health at Golisano Children’s Hospital and Associate Medical Director for Maternal and Child Health at AHP, will receive the Susan McDaniel Award presented to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in promoting the integration of behavioral health and general medical care through clinical work, research or education.

The cost to attend the symposium is $25 for students and $75 for all other attendees. Continuing education credits are available for physicians, social workers, psychologists, and mental health practitioners. You can view the complete agenda and register for the event here.
