June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month: During Pride Month, cities and towns across the United States will honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement. Though the Rochester Pride Parade will be held on July 20th, there will be Pride events held throughout June and July. Juneteenth 2024: Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, will be observed on Wednesday, June 19th. AHP offices will be closed to observe the holiday. In recognition of the holiday, the City of Rochester is hosting the 2024 Rochester Juneteenth Festival at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park on June 15th.
