Women in Medicine – Navigating Workplace Adversity to Find Fulfillment: Join fellow women in medicine for an engaging discussion with Stella Safo, MD, HIV primary care physician and founder of Just Equity for Health, about navigating workplace adversity to find fulfillment, meaning, and to thrive in your career. Drawing on her lived experiences, research and advocacy efforts, Stella Safo, MD explores how women in medicine can create meaning and impact. Registration for the event is available here.
11th Annual Summer Brown Bag Series: The Department of Psychiatry, in partnership with the Departments of Medicine and Neurology, and the URMC Office of Equity and Inclusion, will host “A Talk on Brave Space: Racial Affinity Group Healing” with speaker Ruth King, founder of Mindful of Race Institute, LLC, and author, educator, and meditation teacher on July 12 from noon to 1 p.m.
The talk is the first of six sessions of the 11th Annual Summer Brown Bag Series focused on all facets of inequity. This year, the focus is “Healing the Healer”, in which we will explore the impact of racism, violence, and erosion of rights on our faculty and staff. Registration is available for the series here.
