The Arcadia “Connection”: New Claims Data Source Added

March 31st, 2016 | Archive

The Arcadia Connection is a recurring feature in Network News that keeps you up to date with news about the Arcadia Analytics Dashboard and connects you with information about workflow improvements and best practices that improve measure performance. This month’s edition is about a new source of data recently added to the dashboard.

MVP Claims Now in Arcadia Dashboard
On March 3, 2016, the Arcadia Analytics Dashboard began integrating MVP Health Care paid claims data for commercial and Medicare Advantage members. Claims data for Excellus commercial members have been integrated since the dashboard’s initial implementation.

The MVP claims complement the clinical data present in the dashboard, supplementing it with information about:
• Diagnosis
• Procedures
• Medications
• Interaction History

With claims data from both Excellus BCBS and MVP, providers have a more comprehensive view of the care received for these plans’ members. Now providers will have access to diagnoses made from encounters outside of the PCP office (e.g., urgent care or the emergency department). Performance to AHP’s clinical measures benefits as well: A claim for an MVP member’s colonoscopy will satisfy the colorectal screening clinical measure even when the provider had no record of the colonoscopy present in the EMR.
