Join URMC’s Center for Community Health & Prevention at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 2 for an engaging and educational presentation and discussion around human papillomavirus (HPV), cervical cancer and the importance of prevention through vaccination. This free event is co-sponsored by WXXI Second Opinion and Wilmot Cancer Institute.
The first portion of the evening will feature a viewing of the award-winning documentary, “Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic,” that shares the stories of five young women impacted by HPV. A panel discussion from topic experts will follow the film. This event is open to the public, and continuing education credits are available for nurses, physicians and pharmacists.

Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Course
URMC, Monroe Community Hospital and the Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center are sponsoring free courses on the treatment of opioid use disorder. Designed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the course can be taken by any physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant wishing to obtain a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorders.
One course will be offered on Monday, May 6th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at the Saunders Research Building, Room 1416, 265 Crittenden Blvd, Rochester, NY. Register for the course and view the full course information here.
