New Members Join the Pediatric Care Management Team
June 29th, 2017 | ArchiveAs part of AHP’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of care delivered to children, our pediatric care management enterprise is growing to ensure better access to these critical services. The team will welcome two new members in July. Colleen Lewis is a Licensed Master Social Worker whose most recent work has focused on forensic mental health. Prior to working with minors and adults served by Erie County Forensic Mental Health Services, Colleen provided case management for individuals with mental health, substance use disorders and/or chronic medical conditions. She brings rich clinical experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed therapies, brief interventions and family work.
Joining Colleen as a new member of the pediatric team is Dr. Holly Brown, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with expertise in addressing complex mental health and developmental needs of children and adolescents. Holly also is highly knowledgeable about the use and management of psychotropic medications with this population. In addition to working with AHP’s pediatric practices and care management staff, Holly will be an integral member of our behavioral health integration team.
Adding these two key positions provides an opportunity for us to restructure our pediatric care management staffing plan. AHP’s Associate Medical Director for Pediatrics, Dr. Laura Jean Shipley, is currently collaborating with Director of Care Management, Dr. Daryl Sharp and the care management team, on a staffing design that we anticipate will strengthen care management support and consultation for our pediatric practices. More information will be forthcoming throughout the summer and early fall about our changes to the structure of AHP pediatric care management and how pediatricians may access the services of these new providers.
