AHP Launches New Pediatric Committees

AHP Launches New Pediatric Committees

March 31st, 2016 | Archive

To foster both leadership and innovation around pediatric health care, AHP is creating a more formalized structure for providers who care for children to meet and collaborate. Co-chaired by Laura Jean Shipley, MD and Carolyn Cleary, MD, the Pediatric Primary Care Committee will help to set AHP’s priorities around pediatric care delivery and allow for better communication between AHP and its pediatric PCP members. Membership in this group is open to any PCP provider who cares for children, including family medicine and med-peds.

The Pediatric Workgroup is a smaller, multidisciplinary group of providers, including PCPs, subspecialists, behavioral health providers and hospitalists. This group will be charged with collaborative implementation of initiatives targeted to address the most pressing issues in child health, including mental and behavioral health issues and management of chronic illness across primary care and specialty and hospital settings. Dr. Shipley will be chairing the Pediatric Workgroup.

AHP members can expect to learn more about these groups’ efforts in future issues of Network News.
