Specialist Advisory Committee Working with PCPs to Improve Referral Process
November 24th, 2015 | ArchiveImproving coordination of care is an important factor of AHP’s mission of improving quality for the patient population we serve. With that in mind, the Specialist Advisory Committee was launched in February of this year. As a platform for building collaborative and collegial relationships amongst AHP Specialists and PCPs, the Committee has started to work on a number of strategic initiatives.
One such initiative under development in partnership with the Primary Care Advisory Committee is a project to evaluate deficiencies in existing processes for referring patients to specialty care and to develop a standardized protocol. Expect to hear more about the development and implementation of the AHP referral template over the next two months.
