AHP/Excellus Managed Medicaid Contract Underway

AHP/Excellus Managed Medicaid Contract Underway

December 6th, 2016 | Network News

Accountable Health Partners has entered into a three-year agreement with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield to care for approximately 47,000 members covered under the managed Medicaid products Blue Choice Option and Child Health Plus. Approved by the AHP Board earlier this year, the contract was recently finalized and will be retroactive to January 1, 2016.

Providers who participate in AHP’s commercial ACQA contract with Excellus will automatically participate in the new Medicaid ACQA. Like the commercial contract, quality measures will be reported to Excellus via the Arcadia Analytics dashboard. Benefits to providers will include gain sharing opportunities and up-front clinical integration payments based on member attribution.

All participating providers will have a number of opportunities to learn about the new contract’s major terms, including quality measures, performance incentives and up-front payments. An on-demand webinar is being developed, and a review of the contract will be a major topic for the December 14 practice managers meeting. Practices with especially large Excellus Medicaid attribution will be invited to meet with AHP staff for a comprehensive review of the contract and to collaborate on strategies and best practices for quality improvement for this population that can be shared across the network.
