Prepare for the Total Solar Eclipse of 2024 in the Finger Lakes Region
March 21st, 2024 | NewsExcitement is mounting as the April 8th total solar eclipse approaches, with Rochester being one of the prime locations for viewing the phenomenon. Hundreds of thousands of visitors are anticipated to visit the region to witness the historic event. The eclipse is scheduled to commence at 2:07 p.m. and conclude at 4:33 p.m., with totality occurring from 3:20 p.m. to 3:23 p.m. The increased volume of visitors is expected to impact travel, strain emergency and communication services, and slow response times.
