Save the Date – Dr. David Satcher Community Health Improvement Awards: The University of Rochester Medical Center’s Center for Community Health & Prevention is hosting the 15th annual Dr. David Satcher Community Health Improvement Awards honoring URMC faculty, staff, and community partners for their significant contributions to community health through research, teaching, practice, and service programs. Recognize – Autism Acceptance Month in April and Mental Health Awareness Month in May

April is Autism Acceptance Month: The monthlong campaign recognizes the diverse experiences and talents of individuals on the autism spectrum, emphasizing the importance of fostering understanding, acceptance, and inclusion in our communities. Visit the CDC website to access resources to support Autism Acceptance Month and to raise awareness.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month: The awareness campaign serves as a crucial opportunity to promote understanding and support for mental health disorders and related issues within our communities. The goal of Mental Health Awareness Month is to increase awareness, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, and improve care for individuals with mental health disorders.

The AHP Behavioral Health Integration team continues to serve as a primary source of practice support, providing education and training, patient/family resources, and up-to-date, evidence-based tools designed to assist you in screening and addressing behavioral health needs across the lifespan.
