NCQA Public Comment Period
February 27th, 2023 | Quality•NewsEvery year, The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) seeks public comment about proposed changes to HEDIS measures, providing an important opportunity for healthcare stakeholders to weigh in on the relevance, scientific soundness, and feasibility of HEDIS measures.
The current Public Comment Period opened on February 13th and will close on March 13th. Five topics are open for public comment, including retiring two measures and changing three existing ones. The webpage to view details about each topic and to make a public comment is available here.
Being that HEDIS measures designed by NCQA directly impact the standards to which our network is expected to perform, periods of public comment provide an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the process. Executive Medical Director, Dr. Chad Teeters, believes the proposed changes do not go against the interests of our network and are well in line with expectations for the future of healthcare quality. AHP encourages individuals to review the proposed changes and submit public comments in support of these updates.
