AHP’s Racial Justice Efforts

AHP’s Racial Justice Efforts

July 21st, 2020 | Clinical Connections

Given the fact that systemic racism and racial injustice significantly compromise the health and well-being of our patients and staff, AHP is committed to building an anti-racist culture internally with our employees and staff as well as more broadly throughout our network. A multidisciplinary group convened by senior AHP leaders is developing an Advancing Racial Justice Action Plan to guide the implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives, both internal and external.

In the immediate future, we hope to support our practice teams in providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.  AHP’s Care Management Organization Grand Rounds on August 12th, 8-9:30 AM will be led by URMC psychologist, Dr. Andrea Garroway, who will speak to the following: “What’s Wrong with You?” to “What’s Happened to You?” Exploring Trauma-Informed Primary Care. More information about the action plan will be forthcoming. If you have interest in joining the work group, wish to attend the grand rounds, and/or have questions, please contact AHP/URMC Senior Director of Care Management, Daryl Sharp.
