New Incentives for Vatica/Excellus Medicare Advantage Program

New Incentives for Vatica/Excellus Medicare Advantage Program

February 28th, 2019 | Network News

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has contracted with Vatica Health to provide a web-based tool that increases the accuracy and completeness in coding of HCCs for Medicare Advantage members. AHP is encouraging primary care practices with significant Excellus Medicare Advantage attribution to consider implementing the Vatica program, since more accurate HCC coding may position AHP for additional gain-sharing under its Excellus Medicare Advantage contract.

The Vatica tool is cloud-based and interacts with both claims and the provider’s EHR in order to close gaps during the Annual Wellness Visit. Participation in the program has significant upfront financial benefits for practices: for each patient for whom the Vatica tool is utilized, Excellus will pay the provider a generous incentive that includes a sizable increase from the prior year’s program. Also new for this year’s program is a volume-based incentive: providers who achieve a 65% rate of Vatica encounters for eligible members will receive an additional cash incentive.
