Help Promote COVID Vaccination: Share Your Vaccine Advocacy Experiences

Help Promote COVID Vaccination: Share Your Vaccine Advocacy Experiences

August 31st, 2021 | Network News

People engage in dialogue with individuals they know and trust to help them make informed decisions about the COVID-19 vaccine. These “trusted messengers” may be healthcare workers, community, cultural, and religious influencers, or responsible citizens.  The Finger Lakes Rural Initiative, a project led by URMC and supported by the CDC to increase vaccination rates in the Finger Lakes region, needs your help to identify the resources that would help trusted messengers advocate most effectively for COVID vaccination.

To support this effort, providers are invited to respond to a short survey to share their experience encouraging others to consider vaccination. Survey responses will be used to develop a support program for trusted messengers that will include:

  • Short and informative material (in the form of text messages, social media posts, or emails) about the effectiveness and safety of vaccines
  • Guidelines and best practices for initiating engaging and informative discussions about vaccine effectiveness and safety
  • Supportive learning environment for trusted messengers to share their experiences and needs with the FLRII project team to improve the program

The survey should take about five minutes to complete, and responses will remain anonymous.  Completing the survey does not obligate individuals to participate in the Trusted Messenger Program, however individuals interested in taking part can provide their information and request to be contacted.  Click here to respond to survey.
