Start at 9 Resources Now Available to Support HPV Vaccination

July 31st, 2023 | Network News

AHP has developed two resources for providers and families to support efforts to improve the performance of the Adolescent Immunizations (Combo #2) measure and the incorporation of best practices that encourage beginning HPV Vaccination at age 9 years. These resources reflect AHP’s continued support as an endorsee of the Start at 9 HPV Vaccination initiative launched by the American Cancer Society and the National HPV Roundtable and supported locally by the New York State Cancer Consortium and the New York State HPV Coalition.

The provider resource shares guidance on the new recommendation, key messages to support discussions with patients and their families, and tips for beginning HPV vaccination at age 9 years. The parent FAQ also includes the new recommendation and provides parents and guardians with answers to common questions they may have about HPV vaccination and beginning the series at age 9 years.

The resources are available on our website and were shared in the Summer issue of Quality Corner, released earlier this month.
